Police K-9 helps arrest three suspects in Shreveport copper theft

Officers continued the investigation and located a third suspect, David Harmon, also on the property.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Three suspects were arrested Wednesday afternoon after a police K-9 tracked them down during an attempted copper theft at the former Shreveport Country Club.

Shreveport Police officers were dispatched to 3101 Esplanade Avenue just after noon on January 15 after a burglary in progress was reported.

Officers met with the property manager, who pointed out that a chain and lock securing the property had been cut. The lock had recently been replaced.

 K-9 Edy and his handler were deployed to search the property. During the search, Edy tracked down Hillary Morrow and Kristina Ivey, who were found hiding on the property and attempting to steal copper.

Ivey sustained injuries during the apprehension and was treated for those injuries. Officers learned that both women had outstanding warrants. Morrow was also found to be armed with a handgun.

Officers continued the investigation and located a third suspect, David Harmon, also on the property.

Charges filed

Kristina Ivey was charged with simple burglary and had outstanding warrants.

David Harmon was charged with simple burglary.

Hillary Morrow was charged with aggravated burglary and had outstanding warrants.
