Yukon Greenlights Gladiator’s Whitehorse Copper Project

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Gladiator Metals Corp. has received a Class 3 Quartz Exploration Permit from the Government of Yukon for its Whitehorse Copper Project, marking a major milestone in advancing the high-grade asset.

The permit was granted following a positive recommendation from the Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Board, alongside supportive consultations with the Kwanlin Dün First Nation and Ta’an Kwäch’än Council. The five-year authorization enables expanded exploration, including systematic drilling across previously inaccessible targets.

CEO Jason Bontempo said the approval allows rapid resource definition and unlocks high-priority zones along the Whitehorse Copper Belt. The company plans over 40,000 metres of drilling in 2026, initially targeting the Cowley and Cub East prospects, with additional focus on historic mining trends later in the year.

Located near Whitehorse, the project spans a 35-kilometre mineralized belt rich in copper, molybdenum, gold, and silver. First discovered in 1897, the district previously produced significant volumes between 1967 and 1982.

Gladiator aims to deliver its maiden NI 43-101 compliant inferred resource in 2026, positioning the project as a potential long-term, multi-decade copper operation.
