SEATTLE (Scrap Monster):The below report analyses the weekly price trends of scrap copper across various regional markets during the past week (February 7 to February 13, 2025) on the Scrap Monster Price Index.
The copper scrap prices in the region recorded increase across the board.
The biggest increase in prices over the prior week was witnessed in Copper Transformer Scrap, whose prices edged higher by 4.44% from $0.45 per Lb to $0.47 per Lb. The weekly price movement for Copper Transformer Scrap is shown in the below graph:

The other copper scrap varieties to record notable increase in prices include #3 Copper- Light Copper, which recorded weekly jump in prices by 3.61%.
The prices of Xmas Lights, #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery, and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing were up by 3.57%, 3.55% and 3.52% respectively.
Meantime, the prices of all other copper scrap commodities in the region recorded increase over the prior week.
The prices of all copper scrap categories witnessed significant jump in the region. Copper Transformer Scrap prices posted the biggest increase over the week, recording jump from $0.45 per Lb to $0.47 per Lb.
#3 Copper- Light Copper prices were up by 3.61% over the week, rising from $4.16 per Lb to $4.31 per Lb.

A significant increase in prices were seen in Xmas Lights, #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery, and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing.
The other scrap copper categories that recorded noteworthy increase in prices included #1 Copper Wire and Tubing, #1 Copper Bare Bright, Copper Radiators, and Harness Wire 35% Recovery.
Scrap Electric Motors prices were flat on the Index.
The copper scrap prices in the region recorded increase across the board.
The biggest jump in prices over the prior week was witnessed in Copper Transformers Scrap, whose prices edged higher from $0.44 per Lb to $0.46 per Lb, recording week-on-week increase of 4.55%.
The other copper scrap varieties to record notable decline in prices include Xmas Lights, #3 Copper- Light Copper, #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery, and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing.
Xmas Lights prices were up by 3.70%. #3 Copper- Light Copper prices increased by 3.69%, rising from $4.06 per Lb to $4.21 per Lb during the week.
Meantime, the prices of Cu/Al Radiators, Cu/Al Radiators/Fe, and Cu/Al Radiator Ends recorded lowest increase in prices, when matched with the week before.
The copper scrap metal prices in the region witnessed noticeable jump week-on-week.
The scrap categories to record biggest increase in prices from the previous week were Copper Transformer Scrap, #3 Copper- Light Copper, Xmas Lights, and #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery.
Also, Alternator, Cu Yokes, #1 Copper Bare Bright, #2 Copper Wire and Tubing, #1 Copper Wire and Tubing, Scrap Electric Motors, Sealed Units, Starters, Heater Cores, Romex Wires, #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery and Copper Radiators recorded modest positive price variation during the week.
Meanwhile, marginal increase in prices were reported in Cu/Al Radiator Ends, Cu/Al Radiators/Fe, Cu/Al Radiators, and Harness Wire 35% Recovery week-over-week.
Most of the copper scrap categories witnessed weekly price increases.
Heater Cores recorded the biggest jump in prices during the previous week.
The Heater Cores prices edged higher from CNY 30,750 per MT to CNY 30,850 per MT each.
The weekly price chart of Heater Cores is provided below:

#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery reported increase in prices by CNY 100 per MT, from CNY 37,450 per MT during the start of the week to end at $37,550 per MT.
#1 Copper Wire and Tubing and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also reported 0.21% jump in prices over the week.
Meantime, #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery, #1 Copper Bare Bright and Cu/Al Radiators prices also recorded marginal jump on the Index.
The rest of the scrap commodities were flat during the week.
The scrap commodities in Indian market saw their prices edge higher over the prior week.
The copper sheet cutting scrap prices were up by INR 2,000 per ton over the previous week to close at INR 431,000 per ton on February 13, 2025 on the Scrap Monster Index. The weekly chart of the commodity is provided below:

The prices of Copper Armature, Copper cable scrap, Copper heavy scrap, Copper utensil scrap and Copper wire bars also increased during the week ended February 13, 2025.
The prices of all copper scrap commodities such as #1 Copper Bare Bright, #1 Copper Wire and Tubing, #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery, #2 Copper Wire and Tubing, Braziery Copper, Copper Dry Bright, Copper radiators and Copper Tubes held steady during the course of the week.

Meantime, the closing price of LME Copper 3-Month contract stood at USD 9,457.00 per tonne as on February 13, 2025. The LME Copper Cash Settlement contract prices increased marginally from $9,277.50 a day before to $9,362.00 per tonne.
The LME Copper stocks saw modest decline over the previous day to close at 237,925 tonnes on February 13, 2025, as compared with 241,650 tonnes on February 12, 2025.
