Copper Scrap Prices: Weekly Market Report- June 6, 2025

The closing price of LME Copper 3-Month contract stood at USD 9,765.00 per tonne as on June 5, 2025.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster):The below report analyses the weekly price trends of scrap copper across various regional markets during the past week (May 30 to June 5, 2025) on the Scrap Monster Price Index.
North America Prices
The copper scrap prices in the region recorded increase across the board.
The biggest increase in prices over the prior week was witnessed in #3 Copper- Light Copper, whose prices edged higher by 5.39% from $4.27 per Lb to $4.50 per Lb. The weekly price movement for #3 Copper- Light Copper scrap is shown in the below graph:
The other copper scrap varieties to record notable increase in prices include #2 Copper Wire and Tubing and #1 Copper Wire and Tubing, which recorded weekly jump in prices by 5.26% and 5.15% respectively.
The prices of $1 Copper Bare Bright, Heater Cores and Harness Wire 35% Recovery were up by 5.03%, 3.70% and 3.68% respectively.
Also, the prices of all other copper scrap commodities in the region recorded increase over the prior week.
USA East Coast Prices
The prices of all copper scrap categories in the region witnessed notable jump in prices. #3 Copper- Light Copper prices posted the biggest increase over the week, recording jump of 5.39% from $4.27 per Lb to $4.50 per Lb.
#2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were up by 5.26% over the week, rising from $4.37 per Lb to $4.60 per Lb.

The other scrap copper categories that recorded noteworthy increase in prices included #1 Copper Bare Bright, Heater Cores, Harness Wire 35% Recovery and Xmas Lights.
The least jump in prices was seen in Cu/Al Radiator Ends, whose prices edged higher marginally by 1.4%.
USA Midwest Prices
The copper scrap prices in the region recorded increase across the board.
The biggest jump in prices over the prior week was witnessed in #3 Copper- Light Copper, whose prices edged higher from $4.17 per Lb to $4.40 per Lb, recording week-on-week increase of 5.52%.
The other copper scrap varieties to record notable increase in prices include #2 Copper Wire and Tubing and #1 Copper Wire and Tubing. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices surged by 5.39% during the week. The #1 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were up from $4.37 per Lb to $4.60 per Lb, recording a jump of 5.26%.
A notable increase in prices was seen in #1 Copper Bare Bright, Heater Cores, Harness Wire 35% Recovery and Xmas Lights.
The rest of the regional copper scrap categories also reported week-on-week jump in prices.
USA West Coast Prices
The copper scrap metal prices in the region witnessed noticeable jump week-on-week.
The scrap categories to record biggest increase in prices from the previous week were #3 Copper- Light Copper, #2 Copper Wire and Tubing and #1 Copper Wire and Tubing.
Also, #1 Copper Bare Bright, Heater Cores, Harness Wire 35% Recovery, Xmas Lights, Copper Radiators and #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery recorded modest positive price variation during the week.
The prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery, Romex Wire, Sealed Units and Starters also increased.
Meanwhile, marginal week-on-week increase in prices was reported in Cu/Al Radiators, Cu/Al Radiators/Fe, Cu Yokes, Alternator, Copper Transformer Scrap, Cu/Al Radiator Ends and Scrap Electric Motors.
China Prices
Majority of copper scrap categories in the region witnessed weekly price increases.
#1 Copper Wire and Tubing, #2 Copper Wire and Tubing and Heater Cores recorded the biggest jump in prices during the previous week.
The #1 Copper Wire and Tubing prices edged higher from CNY 73,200 per MT to CNY 73,550 per MT on the Index.
#2 Copper Wire and Tubing reported increase in prices by CNY 350 per MT, from CNY 72,200 per MT during the start of the week to end at $72,550 per MT.
Heater Cores also reported 0.48% jump in prices over the week.
In the meantime, #1 Copper Bare Bright, #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery, Cu/Al Radiators, #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery, Cu Yokes and Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices also recorded marginal jump on the Index.
Copper Transformer, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices were flat on the Index.
The least week-on-week increase of 0.28% was witnessed in Harness Wire 35% Recovery. The weekly price chart of Harness Wire 35% Recovery for the week ended June 5, 2025 is provided below:
India Prices
The scrap commodities in Indian market saw their prices edge higher over the prior week.
The copper sheet cutting scrap prices were up by INR 25,000 per ton over the previous week to close at INR 448,000 per ton on June 5, 2025 on the Scrap Monster Index.
The prices of Copper Armeture, Copper cable scrap, Copper heavy scrap, Copper utensil scrap and Copper wire bars also increased during the week ended June 5, 2025.

Europe Prices
The prices of all copper scrap commodities such as #1 Copper Bare Bright, #1 Copper Wire and Tubing, #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery, #2 Copper Wire and Tubing, Braziery Copper, Copper Dry Bright, Copper Radiators and Copper Tubes held steady during the course of the week.

LME Copper Market Update
The closing price of LME Copper 3-Month contract stood at USD 9,765.00 per tonne as on June 5, 2025. The LME Copper Cash Settlement contract prices increased marginally from $9,673.50 a day before to $9,834.00 per tonne.
The LME Copper stocks saw modest decline over the previous day to close at 138,000 tonnes on June 5, 2025, as compared with 141,350 tonnes on June 4, 2025.
