SEATTLE (Scrap Monster):The below report analyses the weekly price trends of scrap copper across various regional markets during the past week (June 13 to June 19, 2025) on the Scrap Monster Price Index.
The copper scrap prices in the region recorded mixed trend, when matched with the week before that. The prices of majority of the commodities held steady, while the remaining edged higher from prior week’s price levels.
The biggest increase in prices over the prior week was witnessed in #3 Copper- Light Copper, whose prices edged higher from $4.37 per Lb to $4.38 per Lb. The weekly price movement for #3 Copper- Light Copper is shown in the below chart:
The other copper scrap commodity to record notable jump in prices was #1 Copper Wire and Tubing, which recorded price increase by 0.22% week-on-week. A similar week-on-week jump in prices by 0.22% was recorded in #2 Copper Wire and Tubing.
Also, #1 Copper Bare Bright recorded increase in their prices over the previous week. The prices of the commodity registered a weekly gain of 0.21%.
The rest of the copper scrap categories held steady on the Index during the week ended June 19, 2025.
The prices of most copper scrap categories witnessed no change in the region. #3 Copper- Light Copper prices posted the biggest increase over the week.
The prices of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing too recorded notable jump over the week.
The other scrap commodities whose prices witnessed week-on-week increase during the week included #1 Copper Bare Bright, whose prices were up by 0.21%. The prices recorded a week-on-week jump from $4.67 per Lb to $4.68 per Lb.

Meanwhile, the prices of all other commodities such as #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery, #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery, Copper Radiators, Harness Wire 35% Recovery, Heater Cores, Romex Wire, Cu/Al Radiators, Alternator, Copper Transformer Scrap, Cu Yokes, Cu/Al Radiator Ends, Cu/Al Radiators/Fe, Scrap Electric Motors, Sealed Units, Starters and Xmas Lights were flat on the Index.
The copper scrap prices in the region witnessed mixed trend, when matched with the week before that. The prices of majority of the commodities remained constant.
The largest increase in prices over the prior week was witnessed in #3 Copper- Light Copper, whose prices edged lower from $4.27 per Lb to $4.23 per Lb.
The other copper scrap varieties to record notable dip in prices include #2 Copper Wire and Tubing and #1 Copper Wire and Tubing, which recorded price declines by 0.92% and 0.89% respectively on the Index. The weekly price movement for #1 Copper Wire and Tubing is shown in the below chart:
The #1 Copper Bare Bright prices were down from $4.57 per Lb to $4.53 per Lb during the course of the week.
Meanwhile, the prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery, #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery, Copper Radiators, Harness Wire 35% Recovery, Heater Cores, Romex Wire, Cu/Al Radiators, Alternator, Copper Transformer Scrap, Cu Yokes, Cu/Al Radiator Ends, Cu/Al Radiators/Fe, Scrap Electric Motors, Sealed Units, Starters and Xmas Lights held steady over the previous week.
The prices of most copper scrap categories witnessed no change in the region. However, a few reported increase over the previous week.
The prices of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing and #3 Copper- Light Copper posted the biggest jump over the week. The prices of the above commodities went higher by 0.22% each.
The other copper scrap categories to witness increase in prices were #1 Copper Wire and Tubing and #1 Copper Bare Bright, which recorded weekly jump by 0.21% each on the Index.
The prices of all other copper scrap categories were flat over the previous week.
The copper scrap prices recorded mixed trend over the previous week.
The Cu Yokes prices recorded a decline, falling from the previous week’s prices by 0.29% as of June 19, 2025. The price of the commodity ended the week at CNY 17,450 per MT. The weekly price chart of the commodity for the week ending June 19, 2025 is given below:
Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices edged lower by 0.28% week-on-week to close at CNY 17,700 per MT during the week.
Heater Cores prices recorded a decline of CNY 50 per MT to end the week at CNY 31,650 per MT on the Index. The commodity registered 0.16% dip in prices over the previous week’s prices.
The prices of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing dropped by 0.07% each week-on-week.
All the other commodities held steady on the Index.
The scrap commodities in Indian market recorded increase, upon comparison with the previous week.
The Copper sheet cutting prices recorded the biggest increase, with the prices of the commodity recording jump by 1.61%. The prices of the commodity edged higher from INR 434,000 per Ton to INR 441,000 per Ton. The weekly chart depicting the price movement in Copper sheet cutting is provided below:
The prices of Copper armeture, Copper cable scrap, Copper heavy scrap, Copper utensil scrap and Copper wire bars (HCL *) were also up on the Index during the week ended June 19, 2025.
The prices of all copper scrap commodities such as #1 Copper Bare Bright, #1 Copper Wire and Tubing, #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery, #2 Copper Wire and Tubing, Braziery Copper, Copper Dry Bright, Copper radiators and Copper Tubes held steady during the course of the week.
The closing price of LME Copper 3-Month contract stood at USD 9,610.00 per tonne as of June 19, 2025. The LME Copper Cash Settlement contract prices dropped marginally from $9,841.00 a day before to $9,712.00 per tonne.
The LME Copper stocks saw marginal decline over the previous day to close at 103,325 tonnes of June 19, 2025, when compared with 107,350 tonnes a day before.
