Commercial Metals Company Announces Top Executive Leadership Changes

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Irving, Texas-headquartered Commercial Metals Company (CMC) announced that Mary A. Lindsey, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Company will retire from duty effective as of August 31, 2019. Meantime, company press release noted that Lindsey will remain employed with the company until the smooth transition of the CFO role to Lawrence.

Also, effective September 1, 2019, Paul J. Lawrence will assume the role of Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for the Company. He will be responsible for all financial and IT functions of the company. Lawrence will report to Barbara R. Smith, the Company's Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President.

Barbara R. Smith congratulated Lawrence on his new role. She expressed the hope that the vast background and immense experience will help Lawrence to play a key role in the company’s future success. She also thanked Lindsey for her valuable contributions to the company over the past decade. Lindsey had joined the company in September 2009 as Vice President-Tax and has been a constant contributor till date, Smith noted.

Lawrence joined CMC in February 2016 as Vice President, Finance. In September that year, he was appointed Vice President of Finance and Treasurer. Prior to joining CMC, he has worked for Gerdau Long Steel North America and Gerdau Ameristeel Corporation, from 2003 to 2016, in variety of financial roles.
