Chinese CRC exports surged 46% in September, says Customs data

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): The most recent statistics released by the Chinese customs indicate big surge in exports of Cold Rolled Coils (CRC) from the country during the month of September this year.

According to Customs data, the country’s CRC exports during the month totaled 416,479 tons, up by nearly 46% when compared with the exports of 286,222 tons during the same month a year ago.

The largest export destination of Chinese CRC during Sep ’14 was the US. The shipments to the US more than doubled to 94,299 tons during the month, when compared with the exports of 43,011 tons during Sep ’13. The second largest importer of Chinese CRC was Taiwan with 64,644 tons, followed by South Korea with 51,749 tons. The CRC exports to South Korea were 42.3% higher when compared with the previous year.

The cumulative CRC exports by the country during the initial nine-month period of the year totaled 3.5 million tons, up by 43.4% over the previous year. The CRC exports from China during January to September had totaled 2.44 million tons during 2013.
