Speaking at the function, Mr. Goncalves noted that the company has been instrumental in building modern society in the United States through the domestic steel industry for almost two centuries. The milestone was achieved as a result of resilience, innovation and constant reinvention which have kept the company relevant and adaptive to an ever-changing world for generations, he added.

The company, from its humble beginning as an iron ore mining company, has evolved itself into a major vertically integrated steel company. Today, Cleveland-Cliffs is regarded as the only North American steel producer that has full control of its ferrous supply chain. Also, it has grown as the largest supplier of specialized steel products to the region’s automotive companies.
