Circular Action Alliance Welcomes New Founding Members

SEATTLE (Waste Advantage): Circular Action Alliance (CAA), a nonprofit Producer Responsibility Organization (PRO) dedicated to implementing effective Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) laws for paper and packaging in the U.S., announced that The Campbell’s Company, IKEA Supply AG and Starbucks Corporation have joined the organization as Founding Members. These companies will make an immediate contribution to the work of CAA’s Board of Directors and grow the diversity of industries and packaging portfolios represented by these companies.

“We are pleased to welcome The Campbell’s Company, IKEA and Starbucks Corporation to the CAA Board as Founding Members,” noted Charlie Schwarze, CAA Board Chair and Head of Sustainability at Keurig Dr Pepper. “Their active involvement and committed investment in CAA are vital to the organization’s effective and efficient implementation of EPR regulations in the United States.”

CAA is a nonprofit organization implementing U.S. EPR laws for paper and packaging and is operating as the PRO in California, Colorado, Oregon and Minnesota. CAA has also been selected to represent producer interests as the PRO on the State Producer Responsibility Advisory Council in Maryland.

“One of our strategic operating principles at CAA is to provide strong producer governance of EPR programs and effective representation of producers’ priorities,” said Jeff Fielkow, CEO of CAA. “The Campbell’s Company, IKEA and Starbucks Corporation will contribute valuable perspectives to our Board, further strengthening our capacity to effectively represent the diverse priorities of all producers.”
