Binderholz Group Completed Acquisition of BSW Timber Assets

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Binderholz UK Holding GmbH- the subsidiary of the Austrian binderholz Group announced that it has successfully completed acquisition of assets belonging to Earlston, Scotland based BSW Timber Ltd. The transaction makes it the largest company in the European sawmill and solid wood processing industry, by strengthening its positioning in the growing British market.

Incidentally, BSW Group is the largest sawmill group in the UK as on 2021, with a turnover of around £700 million and a production capacity of over 1.2 million m3 of sawn timber per year. The addition of BSW Timber will elevate Binderholz’s cumulative annual turnover to €2.6 billion and make its total employee strength to around 5,000.

According to company press release, the brand name BSW will be retained even after its integration into the binderholz Group. Also the company will continue to be led by the current management.

Reinhard Binder, Owner and CEO of binderholz commented that both binderholz and BSW pursue a a forward-looking and at the same time, tradition-conscious corporate philosophy. The acquisition of BSW is an essential component of its long-term expansion and sustainability strategy, he added.
