SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Axens, a leading plastics technology license supplier, has established a cooperation with plastics recycling specialist SOREMA to deliver full chemical and mechanical plastic waste recycling solutions. The alliance will aim to create optimized recycling solutions that will help to develop a circular plastics economy.
Axens possesses a wide range of breakthrough commercial technologies, including the TAC Process, which creates recycled naphtha, a critical raw ingredient in the production of polyethylene and polypropylene. Furthermore, the company's Rewind PET process converts all sorts of PET trash into high-quality pure PET that may be used in food packaging, textiles, and other industries.

The strategic alliance brings together Axens' technologies and SOREMA's expertise in mechanical recycling and feedstock preparation.
Stephane Fedou, Vice President of Axens' Plastic Circular Economy business, stated that the collaboration with SOREMA will provide comprehensive recycling alternatives to optimize the value of plastic waste streams. It emphasizes the link between mechanical and chemical recycling in the development of a global circular economy for plastics, he explained.
Other industry leaders, notably BASF, have been involved in a variety of attempts to improve plastic recycling.
