ArcelorMittal Launched New State-of-the-Art Concentrator in Liberia

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The inauguration event held to celebrate the formal commissioning of the new state-of-the-art concentrator in Tadeh, Nimba County, Liberia. The event was attended by His Excellency Joseph Boakai, and ArcelorMittal Executive Chairman, Mr. Lakshmi Mittal. It must be noted that the company had recently celebrated two decades of mining in the West African country.

The concentrator is thought to be a crucial part of the business's previously disclosed US$1.8 billion growth plan in Liberia. With the aforementioned commitment, the corporation will have invested about US$3 billion in Liberia overall. With the investment, iron ore production will increase from the current levels of 5 million tonnes annually to 20 million tonnes. It will also result in notable enhancements to the grades of ore.

More than 5,000 on-site construction jobs have already been created by the expansion project. Upon completion, it is anticipated to create approximately 1,000 permanent job positions.

According to Lakshmi Mittal, the modern concentrator will ensure Liberia's mining industry's long-term survival. He went on to say that it will significantly boost Liberia's economic prosperity by quadrupling the company's capacity and creating jobs for thousands of Liberians.
