April 30, 2025: Chinese Scrap Metal Prices Witnessed Decline on the Index

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): As of Wednesday, April 30, 2025, Chinese Copper scrap prices recorded modest decline on the ScrapMonster Price Index. Aluminum, Brass/Bronze and Stainless Steel scrap prices also dropped over the previous day’s price. Meanwhile, Steel scrap prices held steady on the Index.

Copper Scrap Prices

#1 Copper Bare Bright prices were down by CNY 400 per MT over the previous day. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also declined by CNY 400 per MT each.

#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices were down by CNY 200 per MT upon comparison with the previous day’s price. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices recorded a decline of CNY 50 per MT over the previous day.

Copper Transformer scrap prices were unchanged on the Index.

Cu Yokes scrap prices also recorded no change.

Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices held steady over the previous day’s prices.

Cu/Al Radiator scrap prices were down by CNY 50 per MT on the Index.

Heater Cores prices dropped by CNY 150 per MT as of Wednesday, April 30, 2025.

Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices witnessed no change over the previous day’s price.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

6063 Extrusions declined by CNY 50 per MT in prices over the previous day.

Aluminum Ingots also were down by CNY 50 per MT.

The prices of Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers recorded no variation on the Index.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices inched lower by CNY 50 per MT.

Old Cast and Old Sheet prices dropped by CNY 50 per MT each as of April 30, 2025.

The prices of UBC and Zorba 90% INF were flat from the previous day’s price.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 HMS prices held steady as of April 30, 2025.

Cast Iron Scrap also reported no change in prices.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS prices were flat on the Index.

304 SS Solid prices held steady over the previous day’s prices.

The price of 304 SS Turning also recorded no change on the Index.

309 SS and 316 SS Solid prices were down by CNY 50 per MT each.

310 SS scrap prices edged lower by CNY 50 per MT as of April 30, 2025.

Shred SS prices held steady over the previous day’s price.        

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China recorded minor decline on the Index.

Brass Radiator scrap prices were flat as of April 30, 2025.

Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices recorded slight decline by CNY 50 per MT each on the Index.
