Aluminum Scrap Prices: Weekly Market Report- June 20, 2025

The LME Aluminum Cash Settlement contract recorded marginal decline from $2,545.50 a day before to $2,525.50 per tonne.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The weekly trend in aluminium scrap prices across worldwide aluminum scrap metal markets for the period from June 13 to June 19, 2025 on the Scrap Monster Price Index are provided below:
The regional aluminum scrap prices witnessed increase over the prior week. However, a few commodities held steady.
The prices of E.C. Aluminum Wire and 6063 Extrusions/Fe reported the largest increase on the Index. The other scrap commodities to witness notable jump in prices were 6061 Extrusions and Zorba 90% NF.
Prices for E.C. Aluminum Wire increased by 1.79% from the previous week. From $1.12 per pound at the beginning of the week, prices increased by $0.02 per pound to close at $1.14 per pound on the Index.

The price of 6063 Extrusions/Fe also recorded a jump by 1.56% during the previous week. 6061 Extrusions and Zorba 90% NF prices increased as well, by 1.49% and 1.47% respectively.
The only aluminum scrap commodities to maintain previous week price levels were Aluminum Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Transformers, Breakage 50% Recovery and Mixed Aluminum Turnings.
The regional scrap aluminum prices mostly edged higher when compared with the prior week. The top three gainers were E.C. Aluminum Wire, 6063 Extrusions/Fe and 6061 Extrusions.
The prices of 6063 Extrusions, Litho Sheets, Painted Siding, 1100 Scrap, 3003 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean), 5052 Scrap, MLC Clips, , Old Cast, Old Sheet, UBC, Zorba 90% NF and Chrome Wheels also recorded increase over the previous week.
In the meantime, Aluminum Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Radiators/Fe and Aluminum Transformers, Breakage 50% Recovery and Mixed Aluminum Turnings prices held steady over the prior week.
The prices mostly reported increase when compared with the week before.
The price of E.C. Aluminum Wire increased 1.79% during the course of the week, from $1.12 per pound at the start of the week to $1.14 per pound at the close.
The prices of 6063 Extrusions/Fe increased by 1.59% on a weekly basis, from $0.63 per pound to $0.64 per pound in the week that ended on June 19, 2025. Below is the weekly price chart for the commodity:
6061 Extrusions prices were up by 1.52% on a weekly basis.
All other aluminum scrap categories in the region saw price increases during the course of the week, with the exception of Aluminum Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Transformers, Breakage 50% Recovery and Mixed Aluminum Turnings.
The regional prices of all scrap aluminum categories, except a few, posted week-on-week jump.
E.C. Aluminum Wire, 6063 Extrusions/Fe and 6061 Extrusions recorded the highest jump in prices during the week.
The prices of E.C. Aluminum Wire on the Index closed at $1.14 per pound, up $0.02 per pound. The commodity saw an increase of 1.79% in price week over week.
6063 Extrusions/Fe prices increased from $0.65 per Lb at the beginning of the week to close at $0.66 per Lb.
Prices for 6061 Extrusions increased by 1.49% from the previous week. The commodity's price increased from $0.67 per Lb to $0.68 per Lb over the previous week. The weekly price movement for 6061 Extrusions is seen in the chart below:
5052 Scrap witnessed the least increase, with prices recording nominal week-on-week rise by 0.99%.
In the meantime, prices of Aluminum Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Transformers, Breakage 50% Recovery and Mixed Aluminum Turnings held steady upon comparison with the previous week’s price.
The aluminum scrap commodities in the region witnessed strong decline during the week ending June 19, 2025.
The prices of Old Cast and Old Sheet registered a decline of 1.36% each during the week. The closing price of both the above commodities stood at CNY 18,150 per MT, in comparison with CNY 18,400 per MT at the beginning of the week. The below chart depicts the weekly price variation in the prices of Old Cast.
The prices of 6063 Extrusions recorded a dip of 1.34%. Meanwhile, E.C. Aluminum Wire and Aluminum ingots were down by 1.27% and 1.20% respectively.
Also, prices of Aluminum Transformers, Aluminum Radiators, UBC, and Zorba 90% NF recorded week-on-week decline on the Index during the week ended June 19, 2025.
The Aluminum utensil scrap prices witnessed a jump of 1.73% from the prior week’s prices. The commodity’s prices closed at INR 235,000 per Ton as of Thursday, June 19, 2025. The weekly price chart of Aluminum utensil scrap is provided below:
The Aluminum ingots prices also recorded marginal increase by 1.69% on the ScrapMonster Index.
The prices of all aluminium scrap categories (Aluminum Cuttings, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, Old Cast and UBC) witnessed no change during the week.
LME Aluminum Market Update
The closing price of LME Aluminum 3-Month contract stood at USD 2,527.00 per tonne as of June 19, 2025. The LME Aluminum Cash Settlement contract recorded marginal decline from $2,545.50 a day before to $2,525.50 per tonne.
The LME Aluminum stocks edged lower modestly over the previous day to close at 344,950 tonnes as of June 19, 2025, as compared with 347,000 tonnes a day before.
