SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The weekly trend in aluminium scrap prices across worldwide aluminum scrap metal markets for the past one-week period (January 17, 2025 to January 23, 2025) on the Scrap Monster Price Index are provided below:
The regional aluminum scrap prices mostly remained unchanged over the prior week. However, prices of E.C. Aluminum Wire alone recorded decline.
The E.C. Aluminum Wire were down marginally by 0.85% over the previous week. The commodity prices closed the week at $1.17 per Lb, falling by $0.01 per Lb from the week’s opening price of $1.18 per Lb. The chart below represents the price movement in E.C. Aluminum Wire during the past week:

6063 Extrusions, Aluminum Radiators, Litho Sheets, Painted Siding, 1100 Scrap, and 3003 Scrap prices witnessed no change from the prior week.
There was no variation in prices of 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean), 5052 Scrap, 6061 Extrusions, 6063 Extrusions/Fe, Al/Cu Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Transformers, Breakage 50% Recovery, and Chrome Wheels held steady on the Index during the week ended January 23, 2025.
No change in price was seen in Mixed Aluminum Turnings, MLC Clips, Old Cast, Old Sheet, UBC, and Zorba 90% NF.
The regional scrap aluminum prices recorded no variation in prices, except for E.C. Aluminum Wire scrap.
The price of E.C. Aluminum Wire recorded a decline from $1.18 per Lb to close the week at $1.17 per Lb. The commodity’s prices registered week-on-week decline by 0.85%.
The prices of all other scrap aluminum commodities in the region held steady.
Only one commodity- E.C. Aluminum Wire witnessed variation in prices during the week ended January 23, 2025.
The prices of all other commodities were flat on the Index.
The scrap commodities that remained constant during the week included 6063 Extrusions, Aluminum Radiators, Litho Sheets, Painted Siding, 1100 Scrap, 3003 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean), 5052 Scrap, 6061 Extrusions, 6063 Extrusions/Fe, Al/Cu Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Transformers, Breakage 50% Recovery, Chrome Wheels, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, MLC Clips, Old Cast, Old Sheet, UBC, and Zorba 90% NF

The scrap aluminum prices in the region recorded no variation in prices, except for E.C. Aluminum Wire scrap.
The price of E.C. Aluminum Wire recorded a decline from $1.18 per Lb to close the week at $1.17 per Lb. The commodity’s prices registered week-on-week decline by 0.85%.
The prices of all other scrap aluminum commodities in the region held steady.

The aluminum scrap commodities in the region reported decline in prices during the week ending January 23, 2025.
Old Cast and Old Sheet recorded biggest decline in prices. The prices of both these commodities recorded week-on-week decline by 1.67%.
The below chart depicts the weekly price variation in the prices of Old Cast.

Also 6063 Extrusions registered a decline of 1.65% week-on-week, ending at CNY 17,850 per MT on the Index.
E.C. Aluminum Wire and Aluminum Ingots prices also registered notable declines.
In the meantime, Aluminum Radiators, Aluminum Transformers, UBC and Zorba 90% NF prices also registered marginal decline when compared with the week before.
The Aluminum utensil scrap prices were down by 1.22% week-on-week, closing at INR 243,000 per Ton on the ScrapMonster Index. The weekly price chart of Aluminum utensil scrap is provided below:

The Aluminum ingots prices also witnessed a fall of 1.18% from the prior week’s prices.
The prices of all aluminium scrap categories (Aluminum Cuttings, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, Old Cast and UBC) witnessed no change during the week.
LME Aluminum Market Update
The closing price of LME Aluminum 3-Month contract stood at USD 2,616.00 per tonne as of January 23, 2025. The LME Aluminum Cash Settlement contract recorded marginal decline from $2,611.00 a day before to $2,605.50 per tonne.
The LME Aluminum stocks declined modestly over the previous day to close at 597,675 tonnes as of January 23, 2025, as compared with 600,175 tonnes a day before.
