Aluminum Scrap Prices: Weekly Market Report- August 1, 2025

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The weekly trend in aluminium scrap prices across worldwide markets for the past one-week period (July 25 to 31, 2025) on the Scrap Monster Price Index is provided below:

North America Prices

There was a general downward tendency in the prices. All scrap categories, except a few, recorded decline when compared with the previous week.

The largest price drop of the week was seen in Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, which recorded a decrease from $2.21 per pound to $2.09 per pound. The commodity saw a 5.43% weekly price decrease.

Al/Cu Radiators and Breakage 50% Recovery also reported modest decline in price over the previous week, falling by 4.96% and 2.78%, respectively.

1100 Scrap, 3003 Scrap, 6063 Extrusions, 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean), 6063 Extrusions/Fe, MLC Clips, 6063 Extrusions, Litho Sheets, Painted Siding, 6061 Extrusions, Chrome Wheels, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, Old Cast, Old Sheet, UBC, Zorba 90% INF, 5052 Scrap and E.C. Aluminum Wire prices reported decline over the previous week.

In contrast, prices of Aluminum Radiators, Aluminum Radiators/Fe and Aluminum Transformers held steady over the previous week.

USA East Coast Prices

Al/Cu Radiators/Fe prices recorded biggest dip over the week, registering 5.43% decline from $2.21 per Lb to $2.09 per Lb. Also, modest weekly declines by 4.96% and 2.78% were seen in Al/Cu Radiators and Breakage 50% Recovery.

The least decline was seen in 6063Extrusions/Fe. The prices of the commodity recorded a weekly decline of 1.08%, falling from $0.93 per Lb to $0.92 per Lb.

In the meantime, prices of Aluminum Radiators, Aluminum Radiators/Fe and Aluminum Transformers were flat during the week ending July 31, 2025.

USA Midwest Prices

The aluminium scrap prices in the region mostly edged lower over the previous week. The top three losers were Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, Al/Cu Radiators and Breakage 50% Recovery.

The Al/Cu Radiators/Fe prices ended the week at $2.07 per Lb, down from the previous week’s price of $2.19 per Lb by 5.48%.

Also, the week witnessed dip in prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Breakage 50% Recovery to $2.28 per Lb and $0.34 per Lb respectively.

The other commodities to register week-on-week dip in prices were Litho Sheets, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, 6063 Extrusions, Painted Siding, 1100 Scrap, 3003 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean), 6061 Extrusions, 6063 Extrusions/Fe, Chrome Wheels, MLC Clips, Old Cast, Old Sheet, UBC, Zorba 90% INF, 5052 Scrap and E.C. Aluminum Wire. 

USA West Coast Prices

The prices of the region’s majority of scrap aluminum categories fell week over week.

The scrap categories to dip the most were Al/Cu Radiators/Fe and Al/Cu Radiators, whose prices recorded declines by 5.38% and 4.92% respectively over the previous week. Breakage 50% Recovery prices recorded fall from $0.37 per Lb to $0.36 per Lb.

In the meantime, Aluminum Radiators, Aluminum Radiators/Fe and Aluminum Transformers prices held steady when compared with the week before.

China Prices

The aluminum scrap commodities in the region reported decline in prices during the week ending July 31, 2025.

Old Cast and Old Sheet prices declined the most. The prices of both these commodities were down by 1.09% each.

6063 Extrusions prices recorded a decline of CNY 200 per MT from the prior day’s prices.

Also, Aluminum Radiators, Aluminum Transformers, UBC, Zorba 90% NF, E.C. Aluminum Wire and Aluminum ingots prices held steady on the Index.

The Zorba 90% NF prices were down marginally by 0.5% over the previous week. The below chart depicts the weekly price variation in the prices of the commodity:

 India Prices

The prices of Aluminum utensil scrap saw a little decrease of 1.22%, falling from INR 245,000 per Ton to INR 242,000 a tonne during the week ending on July 31, 2025.

The prices of Aluminum ingots also were down by 1.18% during the week.

Europe Prices

The prices of all aluminium scrap categories (Aluminum Cuttings, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, Old Cast and UBC) held steady during the week.

LME Aluminum Market Update

The closing price of LME Aluminum 3-Month contract stood at USD 2,581.50 per tonne as of July 31, 2025. The LME Aluminum Cash Settlement contract dropped slightly from $2,611.00 a day before to $2,580.00 per tonne.

The LME Aluminum stocks edged higher over the previous day to close at 461,025 tonnes on July 31, 2025, down slightly from 460,350 tonnes on July 30, 2025.
