The steel produced through the EAF will carry the Volta name.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Leading Canadian steelmaker Algoma Steel Group Inc. announced that it has achieved the milestone of first production at its new electric arc furnace (EAF). The company press release said that the first steel production was achieved at Unit One of its new, state-of-the-art EAF project. The milestone was achieved following more than ten days of successful electric arc testing and tuning.
The facility's first arc and steel production represents a significant turning point in the business's continuous transformation. It puts the business in a better position to satisfy the changing needs of its clients. It is anticipated that the plant's green steel production will result in a 70% decrease in carbon emissions.
