SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) welcomed James “Skip” Herald, President and CEO, EVRAZ North America to the Board. He joins the board as a Director.
Commenting on Herald’s addition to the board, Roger Newport, Chairman, AISI stated that he is excited to welcome him to the AISI Board of Directors. He has had an impressive career. His wealth of experience will be an asset to the organization in its journey forward, Newport added.
Meantime, Thomas J. Gibson, President and CEO, AISI noted that Skip’s unique and thoughtful perspective to the steel industry will help the Institute address the public policy challenges, especially when the steel industry is passing through its most critical phase in its history, Gibson said.
Herald has more than 35 years of experience in the oil and gas and energy industries. Before joining EVRAZ, he had been serving as the CEO of Axip Energy Services. Prior to that, he has also served as CEO of the Americas at Welspun Corp.; managing director, North America, at Vallourec; and multiple roles worldwide at Halliburton.

The AISI had welcomed two new directors- Michael McQuade, Algoma Steel Chief Executive Officer, and Ed Ramsey, Regional President - North America for Harsco Metals and Minerals to its Board in June this year.
AISI serves as the voice of the North American steel industry and also plays a lead role in the development and application of new steels and steelmaking technology.
