AISI Greeted Senate Passage of Infrastructure Bill

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) applauded passage of the Infrastructure Bill by the U.S. Senate.

In a statement, Kevin Dempsey, president and CEO, AISI noted that the bipartisan legislation will spur economic growth and job creation throughout the country. The Senate passage of the bill takes one step closer to boost long overdue investments in essential infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, airports and waterways, by using domestically made steel. AISI looks forward to work with the House of Representatives to get the bill to the President’s desk at the earliest, he added.

The 100-seat chamber voted 69-30, with 19 Republicans voting yes in passing the $1 trillion infrastructure package. The polls conducted among public proved that the bill aimed at upgrading American infrastructure has broad popularity among them as well.

The bill promises historic and much-needed investments in the nation’s infrastructure. It is a key development in the process to fix America’s deteriorating roads and bridges. The critical legislation ensures that American steel will be used to build back America. It is viewed as the largest infusion of federal investment into infrastructure projects in more than a decade.
