AISI Awarded “Steel Champion Award” to Leading Steel Caucus Members

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) presented the “2024 Congressional Steel Champion Award” to leading members of Congressional Steel Caucus.

The first to receive the award is the “2024 Congressional Steel Champion Award” for his introduction of the “Leveling the Playing Field 2.0 Act.” He received the award in recognition of his continuous support of the American steel industry, in Ohio and across the nation. Kevin Dempsey, president and CEO of AISI presented the award in Rep. Johnson’s office on Capitol Hill.

Rep. Johnson is a dynamic leader who has fought for a level playing field for steelworkers in Ohio and the rest of the country, said Dempsey.

Also, Rep. Terri Sewell (D-AL) received the award in recognition of her continuous support of the American steel industry, in Alabama and across the nation, which was presented to him n Rep. Sewell’s office on Capitol Hill. Sewell is a dynamic leader and vocal advocate for the steel industry and its workers, said Dempsey in his remarks.

AISI applauded both the winners and appreciated their long-standing efforts to fight against unfair foreign trade practices and ensure a level-playing field for domestic steel industry in the country.
