According to the trade association, no single solution could solve the challenges posed by plastic waste.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) outlined a comprehensive strategy to tackle plastic waste.
The trade association asserts that the problems caused by plastic trash cannot be resolved by a single remedy. It promotes an all-encompassing approach that includes improved infrastructure, more intelligent product design, and the expansion of recycling methods. None of the aforementioned tactics will work on its own. However, it pointed out that when combined, they can create a circular economy for plastics.

The significance of developing plastics so that more of them may be recycled or reused was emphasized by AFPM. In order to facilitate recycling, plastics should be made with fewer colors and building blocks.
Recycling is not readily available in every community. Furthermore, a lot of current recycling programs restrict the kinds of plastics they can handle. To guarantee that more consumers have access to recycling, the nation should construct infrastructure for collection, sorting, and garbage management.
Additionally, there is a pressing need to expand recycling facilities nationwide while utilizing both mechanical and cutting-edge recycling technology. Recycling rates and the variety of materials that can be recycled will both significantly increase as a result.
