21st January, 2022: North American Scrap Metal Prices Surged on Index

TORONTO (Scrap Monster): The North American scrap metal prices remained mostly unchanged on ScrapMonster Price Index  as on January 21^st, Friday. Stainless Steel scrap prices witnessed no change on Index. Copper and Brass/Bronze scrap prices surged, whereas Aluminum scrap prices remained mostly flat. Meantime, Steel scrap prices were unchanged on Index.

Copper Scrap Prices

The price of Alternator scrap remained unchanged over the previous day. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing increased by $0.05 per Lb. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were also up by $0.05 per Lb. The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright went higher by $ 0.05 per Lb.

The prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery edged higher by $0.01 per Lb when matched with the previous day. #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices held steady on Index. #3 Copper-Light copper prices edged higher by $0.05 per Lb.

The prices of Copper Radiators witnessed no change on Index.

Meantime, Harness Wire 35% Recovery too were flat over the day.

Copper Transformer Scrap and Cu/Al Radiator Ends prices remained unchanged. Cu Yokes prices too were flat from the previous day.

Meanwhile, the prices of Cu/Al Radiators and Cu/Al Radiators/Fe saw no variation on January 21^st, 2022.

Heater Cores and Romex Wires prices saw no change when compared with the previous day.

The prices of Scrap Electric Motors, Starters, Sealed units and Xmas Lights reported no change from previous day price levels.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

1100 Scrap prices remained flat over the day. The prices of 3003 Scrap too were steady on Index. The prices of 356 Aluminum Wheels and 6063 Extrusions/Fe too were unchanged.

The prices of 6063 Extrusions held steady over the day.

Meantime, prices of 5052 Scrap and 6061 Extrusions remained flat when compared with the previous day.

The prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe remained flat. Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Radiators/Fe prices held steady. Aluminum Transformers and Breakage 50% Recovery prices remained unchanged on January 21^st, 2022.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices were up slightly by $0.01 per Lb over the day.

Chrome Wheels and remained flat on Index.

Romex Wire prices too were unchanged on Index.

Litho Sheets and MLC Clips witnessed no change from previous day’s levels.

Mixed Aluminum Turnings prices too remained unchanged.

The prices of Old Cast and UBC saw no change over the previous day.

Old Sheet, Painted Siding and Zorba 90% NF prices too held steady.

 Steel Scrap Prices

#1 Bundle prices remained flat over the previous day.

The prices of #1 Busheling and #1 HMS too witnessed no change on 21^st, January, 2022.

HMS 80/20 prices held steady on Index.

Sheet Metal, Shredded Auto Scrap and Structural Steel also reported no change in prices in comparison with the previous day.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS and 301 SS prices reported no change.

304 SS Solid prices too remained flat over the previous day.

304 SS Turning witnessed no change in prices on January 21^st, 2022.

309 SS and 310 SS prices saw no change in price on a daily basis.

330 SS prices were flat.

Meantime, 316 SS Solid prices too remained unchanged on Index.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in the North American region increased marginally on Index.

70/30 Brass Scrap, 80/20 Brass Scrap and 85/15 Brass Scrap prices were up by $0.01 per Lb each on Friday, January 21^st, 2022.

Brass Radiator, Brass Radiator /Fe and Brass Radiator Ends prices maintained the previous day price levels.

Red Brass, Red Borings and Yellow Brass prices were up by $0.01 per Lb each over the day.
