SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The global electronics recycling market is projected to reach $65.8 billion by 2026, says a new market study published by the leading market research firm Global Industry Analysts Inc. The report covers a total of 177 companies across major geographies and key segments.
The report titled “Electronics Recycling- Global Market Trajectory & Analysis” states that e-waste volumes have been rising at an alarming pace during recent years, due to unprecedented global consumption of electrical and electronic equipment. Consequently, the e-waste recycling industry is expected to gain significantly, mainly due to rising environmental concerns and the need for precious metals recovered from electronic waste, it said.

The global electronics recycling market, estimated at $39.7 billion during the current year, is projected to grow at a CAGR of 12.7% until 2026. Also, the metals segment is anticipated to grow at 13.3% CAGR to reach $53.6 billion by the end of the analysis period. The plastics segment, which currently accounts for nearly 25% share of the global electronics recycling market is likely to witness 11.5% CAGR.
The electronics recycling market in the U.S. is estimated at $8 billion in 2022. Meantime, China is forecast to reach an estimated market size of $15.3 billion by 2026.
