Wisconsin Electronics Recycler Announces $20 Million Expansion

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Dynamic Recycling has announced major expansion to its electronics recycling facility in Onalaska, Wisconsin. This is the fifth major expansion by the company in the past one decade of operations and the first since it moved from La Crosse to Onalaska.

According to company press release, Dynamic Recycling, Inc. plans to invest nearly $20 million towards carrying out expansion of its existing facility. The company will build another 140,000 square foot facility across the street, thereby expanding the current facility by almost half. Improvements to solar efficiency of the plant and installation of additional recycling equipment are also part of the expansion. The expansion is likely to create 153 new jobs in the region, thereby doubling the total workforce of Dynamic Recycling. The project that began in May this year is expected to be completed in June next year.

The expansion project is funded by nearly half-a-million dollars in tax credits over the next four years from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. (WEDC), in exchange for creating over 150 well-paid jobs in management, sales and support divisions. The exact amount of credits will be dependent on the number of job opportunities created by the company and the total investment made during the four-year period. Dynamic Recycling had received $360,000 in tax credits when it had relocated to the Onalaska facility before three years. The $20 million project will also be funded by $17 million in Industrial Revenue Bonds.

Governor Scott Walker who visited the facility Monday noted that the proposed investment at the facility is intended to save money for the company through significant energy savings. It will enhance the recycling capabilities of the plant. At the same time, the investments guarantee to promote a green economy, Walker added. He also praised the company for continuing to increase its supply of manufacturing jobs. The additional job positions would create opportunities for more employees and their families and communities throughout this region, said Walker.

Miles Harter, CEO, Dynamic Recycling stated that the expansion would provide additional office space for the company and further boost its efforts to achieve the goal of recycling more than 100 million pounds of electronics by next year. It will boost domestic processing and reduce the need to ship the materials to distant recycling facilities. He also thanked WEDC for the tax credits and acknowledged that the support and incentives from WEDC have immensely contributed to the company’s growth all through the past one decade.

Dynamic Recycling is a full service IT asset disposition, electronics recycling, scrap purchasing, and data security corporation with locations in Onalaska, WI and Nashville, TN.
