SEATTLE (Waste Advantage): According to a news release from the Northwest Missouri Regional Solid Waste Management District grant funds are available from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources Solid Waste Management Program to fund recycling and waste reduction projects in the public, private and nonprofit sectors throughout Atchison, Gentry, Holt, Nodaway and Worth counties.
The grant funds are intended to reduce the amount of solid waste entering the local waste stream and/or to facilitate recycling.

Projects sought are ones that reduce, reuse, recycle or strengthen consumer demand for post-consumer wastes, including paper, glass, plastics, demolition waste, organic waste, yard waste, waste oil and electronics. Applications will be evaluated according to several criteria.
