Tennessee Chapter of Solid Waste Association of North America Announces Region Six Conference in Chattanooga

SEATTLE (Waste Advantage): The Tennessee Chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America will host the Region 6 SWANA Conference Sept. 9-12, 2025, at the Convention Center in Chattanooga, Tenn. The multi-state event is open to industry colleagues from the five-states of Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina, South Caroline and Virginia. Phil Fulmer, former head coach of UT Vols Football, wil bring the keynote address.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming our industry colleagues from Tennessee and these key Southern states to the SWANA event in Chattanooga, and especially excited to have Phil Fulmer as our keynote speaker,” Executive Director Amber Greene said. “Our board of directors and executive staff have planned a professional environmental agenda that fits our mission to educate, advocate, and promote recycling and training initiatives that will help sustain our entire region.”

The agenda for September’s gathering includes workshops on solid waste issues including the latest in solid waste practices and technology advances, professional development and training opportunities, exhibit hall and networking events. Attendees are also scheduled to tour multiple waste processing facilities in Chattanooga.

As a special pre-conference opportunity, the TN Chapter SWANA Conference will offer the SWANA training preparation course for certification in Managing MSW Collection Systems Sept. 8-9.
