SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Smurfit Kappa Group plc- Europe’s leading corrugated packaging company demonstrated its leadership in innovative and creative packaging solutions segment by winning a total of 14 awards at the recently announced European Flexographic Industry Innovation (EFIA) Awards. The company won four gold, four silver, three bronze, two highly commended and one special category award. The award-winning packaging solutions include those for brands including Cobra, Huggies and Schwartz.
Smurfit Kappa’s Technical Manager John Glancy won the ‘Lifetime Achievement’ award under Special Category of awards. Stella Artois ‘Pour it Forward’ and WD40 promotional pack won the Highly Commended awards. The Gold Award winning packaging solutions were those for Cobra Beer 12 pack, Rowenta ‘Xtrem Noir’ vacuum cleaner, Schwartz sauce mixes and Kimberly-Clark Huggies ‘Pure’ wipes.
The innovative packaging for Nescafe coffee, Haribo ‘Super Mix’ sweets, Kimberly-Clark ‘Mickey Mouse 90 years’ tissues and Stella Artois Christmas 12 packs were recognized with silver awards. Meantime, the bronze award winners were ones for Müller gingerbread, Pink and white mallow sweets and Hennessy 12 pack.
Commenting on the achievement, Clive Bowers, CEO of Smurfit Kappa UK, said that awards signify the ability of the company to innovate and grow as a business. He attributed the awards to the dedication, talent and expertise of the employees.
