August 6, 2025: Chinese Scrap Metal Prices Witnessed Mixed Trend on the Index

The price of 304 SS Turning recorded no change on the Index.

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): As of Wednesday, August 6, 2025, Chinese Copper scrap prices recorded modest decline on the ScrapMonster Price Index. Brass/Bronze scrap prices dropped when compared with the previous day. Aluminum scrap prices edged higher. In the meantime, Stainless Steel and Steel scrap prices held steady on the Index.
Copper Scrap Prices
#1 Copper Bare Bright prices were down by CNY 300 per MT over the previous day. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also declined by CNY 300 per MT each.
#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices were down by CNY 150 per MT upon comparison with the previous day’s price. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices dropped by CNY 50 per MT over the previous day.
Copper Transformer scrap prices were flat on the Index.
Cu Yokes scrap prices recorded no variation from the previous day’s prices.
Cu/Al Radiator and Heater Cores prices dipped by CNY 50 per MT and CNY 100 per MT respectively over the previous day’s prices.
Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices held steady as of Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices witnessed no change over the previous day’s price.
Aluminum Scrap Prices
6063 Extrusions prices inched higher by CNY 50 per MT over the previous day.
Aluminum Ingots also were up by CNY 50 per MT on a daily basis.
The prices of Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers witnessed no variation on the Index.
E.C Aluminum Wire prices increased by CNY 50 per MT.
Old Cast and Old Sheet prices recorded a jump of CNY 50 per MT as of August 6, 2025.
The prices of UBC and Zorba 90% INF were unchanged from the previous day’s price.
Steel Scrap Prices
#1 HMS prices held steady as of August 6, 2025.
Cast Iron Scrap also reported no change in prices.
Stainless Steel Scrap Prices
201 SS prices were unchanged on the Index.
304 SS Solid prices were flat over the previous day’s prices.
The price of 304 SS Turning recorded no change on the Index.
309 SS and 316 SS Solid prices held steady when compared with the prior day.
310 SS scrap prices also were flat as of August 6, 2025.
Shred SS prices recorded no variation over the previous day’s price.
Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices
The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China recorded decline on the Index.
Brass Radiator scrap prices were flat as of August 6, 2025.
Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices also declined by CNY 50 per MT each on the Index.
