SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada has entered into a joint venture with Brampton, Ontario-headquartered Triple M Metal to offer enhanced services to scrap metal suppliers and consumers. The joint venture titled Integrated Metal Recycling, Inc. will combine the recycling activities of both the companies in Quebec.

As a result of the new partnership, recyclers will be provided access to ArcelorMittal steel mills as well as Triple M Metal’s sites. It will grant customer access to ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada sites that were acquired from Legault Metal and Triple M’s sites in Saint-Hubert, Quebec.

In addition to varieties of scrap metal required for steel production, the joint venture aims to purchase wider range of scrap grades that could be processed at its yards. The alliance offers a one-stop scrap metal shop for recyclers, said François Perras, president and CEO of ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada.

Oscar Moniz, president of Triple M Metal noted that the new joint venture was a natural fit for both the companies, as they have been working together for several decades now. The solid reputation established by both companies in the recycling industry over time coupled with its experience and expertise will offer a strong alternative for existing and future clients, he added.
