SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Accra Brewery Limited (ABL) announce launch of new plastic recycling initiative at Old Fadama in Accra- the capital city of Ghana. The campaign is being launched in partnership with leading non-profit Environment360 (E360) and Miniplast Limited- a leading manufacturer of industrial products.
The program involves collection of ABL’s Beta Malt plastic waste bottles by E360’s waste pickers, which comprises mainly of women from neighbouring communities. The collected materials are then delivered to the Old Fadama central collection hub. The collectors would be paid for the collected bottles, based on its weight.
