When Phil McCoy initially opened a local construction equipment company in 1985, he was determined to provide top-quality equipment and exceptional service to his Kansas City area customers. Thirty years later, McCoy still serves as president of RoadBuilders Machinery & Supply Co., Inc. and we continue to offer the finest equipment in the industry, paired with outstanding parts and service availability.

RoadBuilders became an exclusive Komatsu dealer in 1989, and two years later moved into our current headquarters in Kansas City, Kansas. In 1992, we expanded into the industrial machining and engine rebuild business and currently operate separate rental and used equipment facilities to satisfy our customers' needs. With the acquisition of Fehr's Tractor in 2000, RoadBuilders added three new locations - Omaha, Lincoln, and Grand Island, Nebraska. In mid 2008 we expanded into the Springfield, Missouri area by opening Midwest Equipment & Supply, LLC., where we offer the finest used equipment, rental, service, and parts around.In the fall of 2012, RoadBuilders acquired a neighboring warehouse to take claim as a dedicated used parts facility in Kansas City, Kansas; where we offer used, aftermarket and Reman parts. The following year we decided to greater serve our customers with a full-service paint and body shop in Kansas City, named Heavy Equipment Services, LLC.

In the past three decades we have increased our company's size substantially, but we've always held fast to Phil McCoy's original vision of excellence in parts, service and equipment.

Our Equipment

At the beginning, construction equipment was our sole market. RoadBuilders has since broadened its available equipment lines to include equipment for aggregate processing, concrete paving, and scrap handling. Today we feature: construction, earthmoving, and mining equipment from Komatsu; compact earthmoving equipment from Takeuchi; landscape and erosion control equipment from FINN; aggregate processing equipment from Metso and McCloskey; drilling equipment from Sandvik; material handling equipment from Terex-Fuchs; paving equipment from Ingersoll-Rand and Gomaco; compaction equipment from Bomag and Volvo; trailers from Etnyre; and all types of attachments from NPK, ESCO, JRB, Labounty, Dymax and Werk-Brau. Not all products available in all areas served.

Our Services

Every branch of RoadBuilders Machinery & Supply offers new, used and rental equipment. We assure excellent customer support with our extensive parts inventory, highly trained service personnel, and jobsite maintenance to eliminate travel and minimize downtime. We now offer jobsite service based out of Norfolk, NE. Preventative maintenance contracts are offered to help avoid unexpected repair costs, and we also offer fleet management services for maintaining your equipment.
