Broken Arrow Glass is a contemporary glass design and creative glass recycling program that creates handmade vessels, objects, customs forms, and raw glass material out our local Santa Fe communities glass recycling. Founded in February of 2016 by married couple, Chris Bogle and Shelby Kaye, we first began by creating handblown barware inspired by mid-century patterned barware. In 2020,  Broken Arrow Glass rebranded to create a closed loop system for glass recycling in Santa Fe by upcycling all of our handmade homewares out of waste glass materials.

Chris received his BFA in Fine Art as a glassblower and cold-worker at the Appalachian Center for Craft in Tennessee. He has been working in glass, specifically glassblowing, for over a decade. Shelby Kaye’s background is in conceptual art and she is a trained sculptor/ mold-maker with a degree in Fine Art from New York University.

The two met while studying glass in Washington State at Pilchuck Glass School, founded by glass artist Dale Chihuly in 1971. As the two grew as friends and fellow curious artists their work and paths began to overlap. Driven by their traditional and conceptual study of glassblowing and art, Chris Bogle and Shelby Kaye now work collaboratively with handblown and recycled glass.

Chris Bogle is originally from Chandler, AZ and Shelby Kaye is from Oklahoma City, OK.  The duo now resides in Santa Fe, NM where they have a small family (two children under 3 years old) and beautiful growing business. 

Broken Arrow Glass provides the Santa Fe, NM community with an alternative to traditional glass recycling. In 2020, when the local glassblowing studio, community, and world was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, Broken Arrow Glass shifted our business focus from blown furnace glass to upcycling manufactured glass products into functional ware. 

As of Fall 2021 Broken Arrow Glass is now running and growing the first ever creative glass recycling program in Santa Fe, NM. We offer a monthly doorstep glass recycling collection membership, where we pick up glass recycling from your house each month, and we are pushing the boundaries and possibilities of where and how glass recycling can be kept out of the landfill and go into a closed loop system.
