Prairieland Disposal & Recycling is an environmentally-conscious waste hauler and recycler serving the greater Lake, McHenry and Cook counties.Our mission is to provide honest, cost-effective waste collection services while maintaining our reputation as stewards of the environment. Plastic, Metal, Paper, and Glass Recycling

The fastest growing segment of our business is collecting recyclable materials. From food scraps and stable manure to yard waste and co-mingled household waste, we take pride in being good stewards of the environment by collecting these items for processing and reuse.

Drop-Off Service

We are now providing on-site drop-off for all single stream recycling items. Our drop-off site is located at 21988 N. Pepper Road in Lake Barrington, IL.

• E-Scraps / Electronics: We are now accepting your e-scraps and electronics. Note: fees may apply to televisions and CRT computer monitors. 

• Batteries: We are now accepting household batteries, car batteries, truck batteries, and rechargeable batteries (for example hand-held drill batteries).

• White Goods: We are now accepting white goods (no water softeners) for free. Note: A $10.00 fee is required for refrigerators.

• Clothing and Textiles: We are now accepting unwanted clothing and textiles (throw rugs and towels).

• Athletic shoes: We now collect and recycle unwearable athletic shoes at our Lake Barrington drop-off facility. And we collect other styles of used — but wearable — shoes and boots and donate them to charity.

• Food Organics: We collect vegetative food and organic scraps in biodegradable bags at no charge at our on-site drop-off located at 21988 N. Pepper Road in Lake Barrington. Please no plastic bags.
