Jamaica Ash & Rubbish Removal Co., Inc., incorporated in 1949, is one of the largest solid waste and environmental management companies in the Northeastern United States. Jamaica Ash is a privately held New York corporation, and has been providing waste service in New York since 1919, and on Long Island since 1954. The company operates out of four (4) separate facilities.A 55,000 square foot building is dedicated to fleet equipment maintenance, with auxiliary buildings for tire repair, body repair and welding. Fifteen (15) certified mechanics perform routine and emergency repairs, as required, for all rolling stock.Our goal is to continue as the largest regional solid waste management company in the New York area, to provide innovative and cost-efficient solutions to the solid waste and recycling needs of the region's commercial and municipal generators.
Transfer Stations
Jamaica Ash is the primary collection and hauling company for our Nassau County processing facility, which is New York's largest DEC permitted recycling management facility. Our facility is based on a 19 acre site, which includes 600,000 square feet of enclosed buildings. The permit allows for the processing of over 1,000 tons of material per day.
Suffolk County material is transported to our recycling facilities, which are fully DEC permitted for mixed waste and recyclables.
Environmental Friendly
All Jamaica Ash trucks carry the necessary equipment to contain minor spillages of oil, hydraulic fluid, etc. All drivers are trained to immediately report any environmental situation to the main office, where appropriate environmental response companies are on call to deal with any event.Jamaica Ash has been in the forefront of commercial and residential recycling. Every possible innovation to lower the volume of incinerated or land filled waste is utilized in the entire waste collection process. We are constantly exploring new markets for recyclable materials, and our strong commitment to recycling ensures both the achievement of community environmental goals and the lowest cost possible to our customers.Non-recyclable waste is brought to waste-to-energy facilities, or shipped to area subtitle "D" compliant landfills.

Jamaica Ash has the largest mix of office buildings, strip centers, shopping malls and large "box" stores of any private or public waste company on Long Island.
