Ukraine's scrap trade dipped in Jan '15

MOSCOW (Scrap Monster): According to latest trade statistics, Ukraine’s exports and imports of scrap have dropped during the month of January this year.

The country’s scrap exports during Jan ’15 totaled 40,701 tons during the month. The exports declined sharply by 34.9% when compared with the same month a year ago. Ukraine’s scrap exports had totaled 62,521 tons during January 2014.

The total value generated by scrap exports amounted to $11.827 million, down 40.5% when compared with the previous year. The scrap export value generated by Ukraine during January 2014 had amounted to $19.877 million.

Meanwhile, the country’s scrap imports totaled 251 tons, dropping significantly by 98.1% when matched with the imports during same month the previous year. The country had imported 13,210 tons of scrap during January 2014. The import values saw sharp decline of 91.5% during the month to $390,000.
