Strategic Materials Opens New Houston Production Facility

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Strategic Materials, Inc., North America’s largest glass recycler announced major expansion to its manufacturing footprint. The company announced opening of a new state-of-the-art crushed glass abrasives production facility in Houston, Texas. A grand opening ceremony will be held later this month for customers and local stakeholders.

According to the company press release, the facility was opened in response to rising demand from regional surface preparation market and the noticeable shift to worker health-conscious and eco-friendly abrasive products. The 30,000 square foot facility began production early-December last year. The improved bagging technology and production lines at the facility is expected to triple the company’s abrasive product output in 2020. The company plans further expansion in 2021.
