Recycling Centre Announces Expansion to Include Paper Recycling Services

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Ward Recycling Ltd in Windemere Road, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough has submitted proposal to expand its existing recycling centre to accommodate more facilities. The plan proposes to build a new paper recycling facility on the adjacent land. The plan, if approved, would result in new creation of new jobs and contribute significantly to the local economy.

According to the company, the proposed plant would remove packaging board and contaminants from de ink fibre, the first of its kind in the entire U.K. The plant will create at least 24 full-time jobs and additional 8 jobs in support services. The site will operate 20 hours per day on shift basis on five days per week, weekends being holidays.

The company plans to construct a new building, taking up approximately 5,075 sq. metres, to house the facility, as an expansion to its existing business. The proposal also involves refurbishing the existing buildings at the site and enhancements to electrical and plumbing systems. The state-of-the-art recycling plant will be dedicated to sorting fibre, in order to generate high-quality recycled paper. The opening of the proposed facility is expected to bring about radical changes in the process of collecting recycled paper across the U.K.

Ward Recycling was established in the year 2002 as a third party contractor with a small kerbside recycling operation in the North East. Today, Ward Recycling Limited operate bringbank collection services nationwide, various styles of kerbside collections nationwide, dry recycling sorting and various styles and types of recycling collections.

A final decision on the proposal is expected by Hartlepool Borough Council planning department in the forthcoming months.
