PARIS (Scrap Monster): A gold treasure trove worth 900,000 Euros has been unearthed from a property in Normandy during Monday. Three French builders when working on the property, found the treasure and they tried to sell it.

The treasure trove consists of 16 gold bars of 1 kg weight and more than 600 gold $20 coins. The gold coins are dated between 1924 and 1927 and has a weight of 33 grams each. The French workers found the treasure buried in the ground in glass jars. The prosecutors said that the treasure had been buried and forgotten since the Second World War.

The three French workers have attempted to sell the gold treasure to a local coin dealer. But they have been caught by the French tax authorities when one of them paid a big amount of 270,000 euro cheque into his bank account.

The police seized a Land Rover, a Peugeot 3008, a Citroen DS3 and a Suzuki GSR motorbike together with hundreds of thousands of Euros from the workers. The workers admitted the theft and they would be presented in a court in Evreux.
