MOSCOW (Scrap Monster): According to the recent data published by the World Steel Association (World Steel), the crude steel production by Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) declined by 4.7% during the month of April year-on-year.
The total crude steel production by Byelorussia surged higher by 8.0% during April this year to 230,000 tonnes from 213,000 tonnes in April 2014. Kazakhstan produced 323,000 tonnes of crude steel, up significantly by 8.4% when compared to 298,000 tonnes production achieved during April last year. Moldova recorded 29,000 tonnes steel output during the month, falling considerably over the previous year. The total crude steel production by Russia was up marginally by 3.2% from 5.902 Million tonnes in April 2014 to 6.094 Million tonnes this April.
There was marked decline in Ukraine’s crude steel output in April. Ukraine’s total crude steel output declined sharply by 24.9% to 1.928 Million tonnes in April 2015 when compared with the output of 2.566 Million tonnes during April last year. Also, Uzbekistan’s crude steel output declined by 18.2% during the month.
