Canfor Southern Pine Invests in Modernization of Hampton County Facility

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Canfor Southern Pine will invest $25 million towards modernization of its Hampton County facility located at 4426 Steep Bottom Road in Estill, according to an announcement by Governor Henry McMaster and the S.C. Department of Commerce.

The investment comprises installation of cutting-edge technology and equipment, which in turn will position the company to meet the rising demand for its wood products. The upgrades are expected to be completed by the end of the current year.

Tony Sheffield, President, Canfor Southern Pine said that the investment will benefit its employees and help it to ensure that it can meet the growing customer need for sustainable wood products.

Gov. Henry McMaster said that the company is proud to celebrate Canfor’s latest investment in South Carolina and its people. The competitive business environment and talented workforce have helped S.C. to attract this significant investment, he noted. Secretary of Commerce Harry M. Lightsey III congratulated Canfor for investing in Hampton County. Also, Hampton County Council Chairman Buddy Phillips assured that it will do everything to create the best business environment for Canfor’s continued success.
