AISI Seeks Proposals for Cold-Formed Steel Projects and Fellowships

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) Standards Council has sought proposals for small projects and fellowships related to cold-formed steel (CFS) products to be awarded in 2022.

According to press release, the requests should be developed and submitted by a project team comprising a student, an academic adviser from the student’s institution and an industry adviser. Either the academic adviser of the industry adviser must be a member of the AISI standards developing committee.

The funding will be limited to $10,000 for small projects and $6,000 for individual fellowships. The Institute targets to fund three to six projects during the next year. The idea for the project can come from AISI standards developing committee, student, industry adviser or academic adviser. It must be noted that AISI has already provided a list of potential project ideas from which the selection can be made.

The last date for submission of proposals for 2022 Smalll Project/Fellowship Program is 1st November, 2021. The announcement of the winning projects is scheduled to be held before January 15, 2022.

The projects promote the mutually beneficial and effective engagement between students and industry, thereby yielding maximum benefits for the industry as well.
