Electronic Scrap Recycling Market to Witness 7.2% CAGR Expansion

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The latest report published by the global market research, analysis and intelligence firm Transparency Market Research foresees 7.2% CAGR growth by volume for global electronic scrap recycling market during the period from 2015 to 2022.

The shorter lifespan of electronic products coupled with strict government restrictions on disposal of electronic waste are likely to boost the demand for electronic scrap recycling. The report also mentions serious environmental and health threats caused by landfilling and improper disposal of electronic waste. Incidentally, U.S. Environmental protection Agency (EPA) studies indicate that more than 4 million tons of electronic waste is disposed in landfills every year. This is expected to witness further rise in the coming years.

The report segments the global electronic scrap recycling market into three categories on the basis of metals extracted- ferrous, non-ferrous and precious metals. In 2014, ferrous metals were the major contributor. However, non-ferrous metals category is likely to expand at a significant CAGR over the forecast period. Also, the precious metals segment is expected to hold its dominant position in terms of revenue.

Further, the report notes that contribution of small household appliances to global electronic scrap market is likely to expand at a substantial CAGR, Europe- the largest market for e-scrap recycling will see notable rise in revenues from recycling market in the years to come.
