The history of the birth of the Zhydachiv pulp and paper mill began in 1945, when the construction of a paper mill in Zhydachiv was first officially announced. According to the resolution of the Council of Ministers of the USSR in July 1945, preparatory work began on the construction of the enterprise, which lasted less than three years. On the memorable day of March 17, 1949, the first stone was laid in the foundation of the main building of the cardboard factory, and the birthday of the plant is October 17, 1951, when the cardboard machine G1 was launched, from which the first cardboard came off.

For all the years of its existence, Zhydachiv plant has been a leader in the pulp and paper industry, has made a significant contribution to the development of the state economy. Along with the implementation of production tasks, the plant was a forge of highly qualified personnel and specialists for other enterprises in the industry. Thanks to the available technological processes and unique equipment, the plant was not only an advanced production base, but also a training base for students and a center for research and implementation of new technologies for research institutes, which contributed to the development of the entire pulp and paper industry in Ukraine.

The activity of the plant was highly appreciated by the state leadership, in connection with which, according to the Decree of the President of Ukraine â„– 885/2008 of October 1, 2008, just before the birthday of Zhydachiv Pulp and Paper Mill, a professional holiday was established in Ukraine -paper industry, which is celebrated annually on the third Saturday in October.
