Tru Precision Corporation, a "brief" history.

The President and founder of the Tru Precision Corporation is Chet Schwalenberg. Before 1985 he was a die maker. He always dreamed of running his own successful business. When he turned 25 he decided that if he didn't start one then he may grow too old and conservative to ever do it. And so it was then in 1985 the start of Tru Precision.

In the begining it was just a simple die maintence and repair business with Chet as the sole employee. Within the first few years he hired his first employee who is still here to this day. Expanding his horizons he began to start designing dies begining with some of the same companies that he built a good reputation with.

With Tru Precision becoming the goto company for designing complex pieces and processes, the aerospace industry began coming to him in the early 90's for the more complex sheet metal aircraft components. The company continues to grow and create tooling designs and product engineering. In 1998 we began the transistion to CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) equiptment and are now a full CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Drafting and Computer Aided Machining) operation with a 60" digitizer. This started mainly because we had the need to turn old aircraft mylars into workable 3d computer models.

At the turn of the century we have taken on a few additional full-time machinists. (And the occaisonal part-time college intern during high workload periods). In 2002 we began keeping a full-time engineer on staff because, although the President is still highly involved in the design, he has an evolving business to run as well. To this day we offer a full line of manufacturing design. We offer die and mold design, fixture design, product engineering, multi-axis CNC programming, and something no one else usually offers, we will take a piece from the cradle to the grave. Whether it is preferred to be done in their factory or ours, we will setup a process from raw material to a finished product without the need for going to several different vendors to get different steps of the same piece done.
