About the Owner:

Mike Doherty was born and raised in Mid-Michigan. After high school, he attended Saginaw Valley State University to receive his Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering (BSME) degree. He also received his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Northwood University in Midland, Michigan.

Prior to joining The Junkluggers as a franchisee, Mike worked for twenty-five years in the automotive parts manufacturing industry. He chose The Junkluggers because he believes the company has a proven business model, a great leadership team, and a strong business system.

Mike believes that Mid-Michigan is a great place to raise a family. It's made up of small communities with plenty of outdoor activities and a relatively short drive to larger cities to the south, as well as the wonderful Michigan wilderness to the north. Mike is excited to begin serving his local community by providing essential junk removal services with a focus on properly recycling and donating any "junk" that can be reused or recycled.

In his free time, Mike enjoys spending time with his family. He has been married to his wife, Sandi, for 24 years, and has two children: a son named Eric, and a daughter named Lauren. He also enjoys cooking, fishing, camping, and riding his motorcycle.
