Our Mission Statement
The Compost Collective is a Community-based Volunteer Organization. Our Mission is to be part of the solution to climate change, create a safe space for wildlife to thrive, and provide quality of life services to our community. We accomplish this mission with a holistic approach of remediation of the soil, sustainable gardening, and educational opportunities.
At The Compost Collective we work with our local communities to collect food scraps and yard waste, diverting them from landfills and re-purposing them into compost. Our compost is used to remediate the soil, which helps reduce leachate and green house gases from our atmosphere, and creates healthy soil and land resilience. We share the understanding that soil is a vital, living life source that must be protected for future generations.
We work with the natural topography of the land to create an environment of respite and invite socialization. We supply local wildlife with the food and habitat they need to survive by adding native plants and practicing organic, sustainable gardening. Our educational, therapeutic, and recreational opportunities are available to all ages, and include everything from Bee Keeping to Therapeutic Horticulture.
At The Compost Collective, we live with the fundamental understanding that everything is connected and that the key to life is Balance. We know that through our Collective actions, we can create a better world.
