Tennessee Spring and Metal is a custom spring manufacturer specializing in design and manufacture of custom compression springs, extension springs and torsion springs, as well as wire forms.

Applying the finishing touches to our customers’ work can be as important as the springs themselves. We offer a broad range of custom services, most of which are performed on site to ensure speed of turnaround and quality work.

Integral to producing first class-spring materials is the quality of the packaging and delivery systems upon which an enterprise relies. Although the bulk of our work is spring manufacturing, most of our clients look to us for varying degrees of additional assistance. Our History

General Spring was established in 1963 in Hyannis, Massachusetts. Operating as General Spring & Wire, Inc., the company manufactured torsion, extension, and compression springs for a wide variety of industries, much as it does today. The company was relocated to Middle Tennessee in the 1980’s to take advantage of a growing automotive market. Following a series of management changes, General Spring & Wire moved to its’ present location in Hartsville, Tennessee where the same hard-working group of dedicated employees continue to operate today as Tennessee Spring and Metal, LLC. With over 300 years of combined spring manufacturing in-house, our associates have the experience and the expertise to meet your needs.
