About Company

London’s iconic skyline and world-class infrastructure starts deep under the ground where the earth, clay and rock has been worked to create firm foundations. This is possible thanks to the services and solutions provided by Walsh.

Walsh is London’s leading provider of bulk freight solutions – by road, river and rail – plus waste management and groundworks services. Founded in 1972, we have a strong track record supporting main contractors to deliver major infrastructure projects on time and within budget.

We have played a part in virtually all of London’s major schemes – from the Channel Tunnel Rail Link (HS1), Canary Wharf and the 2012 Olympic park to Crossrail and Thames Tideway.

Our success is built on a deep understanding of the requirements of major construction schemes. We develop strong, professional relationships with our supply-chain partners, and our unrivalled expertise is combined with a tailored approach that provides main contractors and developers with end-to-end solutions for their logistics, waste and site management.

We have built on the strength of our history and reputation, and have continued to diversify to meet our clients’ needs. Today our mission is to provide fully integrated and sustainable construction solutions.

Road, river and rail

Walsh operates one of the largest and newest fleets of tipper trucks for transportation of construction, demolition and excavation waste across the South East. Certified FORS Gold and a CLOCS Champion, you can expect the highest standards of operation from our fleet.

Our marine fleet – along with our partnerships with rail freight operators – gives us the ability to move large volumes of construction materials and waste spoil in and out of the capital in single trips. This means customers can be sure that their logistics are carried out as efficiently and sustainably as possible.

Every year we transport in excess of 3 million tonnes of material and we continue investing in the growth of our fleet to ensure we have capability to support London’s largest construction and infrastructure projects.

Remove, recycle and reuse

Where construction, demolition and excavation waste cannot be reused on site, Walsh are experts in swift and efficient removal of materials. Using our own network of waste and recycling facilities, our aim is to recover and process all unwanted material to create new products that can be reused in construction and land remediation.

In addition, we can source and supply a range of aggregates from recycled and secondary sources to support the circular economy. This helps contractors and developers to enhance sustainability credentials of projects.

Excavation, earthworks and environmental management

Our 175-strong team have decades of experience in excavation and earthmoving, land remediation and end-to-end construction management.

Our earthworks team specialises in complex ground engineering challenges and have a proven track record providing value engineering solutions for developers.

In addition, we offer total construction site management service – from planning and permitting to establishing a site environmental plan, and operation of a site to ensure all environmental conditions are fully met.
