Solid Waste Recycling SA (A.S.A.) , a subsidiary of ILEKTOR, is primarily active in the sorting of recyclable solid waste into individual recyclable materials for the purpose of marketing to licensed recyclers.  More specifically, A.S.A. its main object is the collection of solid recyclable waste , the transport , the separation into individual recyclable materials, the packaging and the promotion of these to its customers. The company also performs cleaning operations in organizations, businesses, buildings, etc. from waste or recyclable solid materials, which it processes in its own facilities. It then forwards the recyclable materials to its partners and the rest of the materials to the legitimate recipients. In addition, it undertakes destruction of files and documents which end up in an unrecoverable format.  The separation of recyclable materials, coming from the black bin and industries (BEAS), at the KDAY (Recyclable Materials Sorting Center) is carried out by mechanical means and with the help of conveyor belts, sieves, magnets and optical separators as well as manually by specialized personnel.  Extensive quality control is carried out at all stages of the production process to ensure the homogeneity and quality of the final product. Some of the materials that are separated are:  Paper – Cardboard (various qualities) Plastic (PET, HDPE, PS/PP, polystyrene, PE, etc.) Metal Scrap (iron, copper, brass, aluminum) Glass Tetrapak Since 2015, A.S.A. operates in Aspropyrgos, Attica, the first privately owned glass processing plant which receives materials from the regions of Central, Southern and Island Greece, and since 2017 operates the second privately owned glass processing unit in Thessaloniki, which serves all of northern Greece. The glass processing plant receives empty glass packages for separation, which are crushed using a crusher and then separated by mechanical means (using sieves, magnets and optical separators) into transparent and colored shards.  The glass shard ends up in bulk form in the glass industry (Greece and Bulgaria) for recycling.  The company's fleet consists of commercial trucks of various types and open (open top connex) or closed type (press connex) trash cans of various capacities, so that it has the ability to respond to the demands and needs of its customers.  The company's activity in the field of commercial, industrial and domestic recyclable solid waste and the extensive experience in materials recycling operations, made the company a valuable partner of particularly important private companies as well as Public Organizations and Agencies. In addition, it is controlled by an international rating agency for the certification of the high level of services it offers to its customers, always having the safety of its employees and the protection of the environment as a priority .
