Smart Waste is a wholly woman-owned, locally operated business based in Houston, Texas. This means we live and operate in the community we serve, and have a commitment to enhancing our environment. We have one goal in mind – customer service. If we aren’t providing a level of customer service that you want to brag about, we want to hear about it.

Smart Waste pays special attention to customer scheduling to ensure your business gets the attention and service it deserves. We expect our drivers to be as visible or invisible as you’d like them to be at your facility. As a regular part of your operations, we expect our drivers to be familiar to you and your staff and always present themselves in a positive, professional manner.

OUR STORY

After more than 18 years of working in a hectic corporate environment, our founder, Danielle, looked around and realized she had very little flexibility in her work life. This was not a good thing for a mother of three energetic youngsters. She had already experienced success as the first female executive to lead engineering for a top, publicly traded waste management company, with all of the acclaim and awards that came with such an achievement.

However, as Danielle’s career success grew, so did her family, making parenting and flexibility just as important as using her wealth of technical expertise. She realized that the tremendous time requirements of a corporate job no longer aligned with her desire to live more in the moment and enjoy the pleasures of daily life.

Always an entrepreneur at heart, Danielle recognized that there was a place in the medical waste market in Texas for a company focused on customer service for small businesses and small quantity waste generators. She moved forward to fill that gap by establishing Smart Waste, a small business with superior customer service as its foundation.

With Smart Waste, Danielle wanted to create a company where employees had the flexibility to care for their children and/or pets without the stress often created by schedule conflicts.

Smart Waste started small, initially choosing to broker services through another medical waste contractor, but customer service wasn’t at the level Danielle and her growing team felt their customers deserved. So, new vehicles were acquired, and Smart Waste, fueled by its commitment to customer service, really began to grow.

Now, Smart Waste is expanding fast enough to provide competitive pricing to customers, but slow enough to still provide the personal service which has become its hallmark. We schedule pickups with enough time for our drivers to be helpful, patient, and courteous, without disrupting our customers’ business. When necessary, our drivers are waste management ninjas, getting in and out as quickly as possible without disturbing patients.

Everyone at Smart Waste is quite proud of our growth since 2012. We have great customers in both the public and private sectors, and have successfully won several competitive contracts. Our biggest accomplishment, however, is the growth we’ve achieved through customer referrals, validating that our commitment to service remains strong.

We treat our employees, customers and business partners with respect, fairness and in a spirit intended to advance knowledge and personal development.

Smart Waste serves dentists, veterinarians, medical practices, surgery centers, EMS services, tattoo artists, and home health businesses in Houston and the surrounding area. We serve both private and governmental clients. In fact, we’re probably providing services to practices in your neighborhood.
